August 01, 2002 Big update Grantham Dispatch Recording artist Johnathan Rice is now managed by Lori Leve (Meredith Brooks, Amy Correia) and has attracted major label interest. Producers Chris Keup and Stewart Myers recently recorded demos of Johnathan's new songs in his basement bedroom. The sessions went smoothly after a large black rabbit was removed from inside the box spring of Johnathan's bed - but not before Cocoa had bitten Johnathan and urinated in a defiant attempt to claim new territories. Mario Sacasa continues to close in on the completion of his debut solo album. Additional tracking has taken place in the Sacasa family home and the results are extraordinary. Mario was recently named a finalist in the John Lennon songwriting contest. Work will resume in August on Jonathan Spottiswoode's solo project tentatively titled, Sailing to Byzantium. The sessions which began unexpectedly last July should be completed in a more premeditated fashion by this fall. Spotttiswoode, hailed as a genius by the New Yorker among others, does not disappoint with this stunning collection of new material. Eli Lieb, a production client of Grantham Dispatch, has attracted a great deal of major label interest. On July 29th he will showcase at NYC's The Living Room. Heidi Ladd's ridiculously oft-delayed debut recording should - and we mean it - wrap up by fall. The absurdity of these delays continues to frustrate us all. Chris Keup has completed songs for several new recordings. An excellent country/roots album, a stranger perhaps awful album, and maybe a new River album?!! He has also written songs for/with Johnathan Rice and Eli Lieb. Posted by john at August 01, 2002 05:29 PM |
