Johnathan Rice was born on the 27th of May, 1983 in Alexandria, Va. He has lived in either Glasgow, Scotland or Virginia, USA for most of his eighteen years on the planet. He graduated from Gonzaga College High School in May 2001, and made a decision to immediately pursue a career in music, after a chance meeting with Virginia singer/songwriter Chris Keup.

Johnathan released his debut EP, "Heart and Mind," on Grantham Dispatch Records in August, 2001. His aspirations include becoming the undisputed master of the sad, slow song and eventually marrying Gwyneth Paltrow. When he's not waiting tables and working other jobs to pay the rent, he spends his time reading, writing, and trying to sing. He cites Albert Camus and Bob Dylan as his cheif influences. He currently resides in New York City.
